When dry, scarf is very flat and hard to imagine, but when wet the beads inflate each of the two channels and make a substantial scarf. i did distribute the beads a bit before placing in water. pictured here on 20lb boston terrier, it is more than wide enough for her neck. waiting due a hit day to test further, but these do seem like a better solution than a plain wet bandana for dogs and humans that struggle in the heat.
